This Fashion Design & Sewing Camp will teach students the basic sewing terminology, how to use a sewing machine with supervision and the basic hand and machine stitches in order to construct some exciting, age appropriate projects that they can take home and cherish.

The camp will consist of fashion forward projects allowing the students to use their own creativity  by choosing from a variety of fabrics and materials in order to personalize their designs.

Each project throughout the week is designed to increase the knowledge and skills of the student, which makes it easy for them to learn and stay engaged. Sewing experience is not necessary. All supplies and materials are included for the camp.

• Basic fundamentals of the sewing machine

• Straight stitch

• Zigzag stitch

• Basic embroidery stitches

• Hand sewing: running stitch, backstitch and slip stitch

• How to sew a button

• Pattern placement

• How to safely use the iron, pins and scissors

• Use creativity to personalize projects
