COVID-19 Camp Policy

Under diligent cleaning and sanitizing, our kid's summer camp will have small groups. (5-8 campers per group) Health and safety is always our highest priority, and this summer we are taking extra precautions to create the safest environment possible and make sure to strictly follow social distancing guidelines.

Hygiene and cleaning

  • All students, instructor and staff member will be required to wear mask when on-site at camp.

  • Campers and staff will be reminded of proper handwashing procedures and will be reminded to wash hands throughout the day.

  • Appropriate supplies (tissues, soap and water, and/or hand sanitizer, etc.) will be provided to ensure proper hygiene procedures.

  • High-touch surfaces will be cleaned frequently.

  • Develop a schedule for increased, routine cleaning and disinfection

  • As possible to do so safely, doors and windows will be opened to provide ventilation and airflow.

  • Cleaning products should not be used near children, and staff should ensure that there is adequate ventilation when using these products to prevent children or themselves from inhaling toxic fumes.

Social distancing

  • Groups will remain as small as possible and staff members that do not rotate. This may change depending on contemporaneous guidance at the times camps are in session.

  • Space seating at least 6 feet apart.

  • Visitor will not be allowed at camp.

  • Desks and tables will be spaced to allow appropriate distance between campers as they work.

Supplies and equipment

  • Areas will be designated to allow separation of camper’s personal belongings.

  • Curricular supplies will be provided on a per-student basis as much as possible to limit sharing.

  • Ensure adequate supplies to minimize sharing of high-touch materials to the extent possible, or limit use of supplies and equipment to one group of campers at a time and clean and disinfect between use.

  • Avoid sharing electronic devices, toys, books, and other games or learning aids.

Food

  • Have campers bring their own meals.

  • Campers will, as much as possible, eat lunches and snacks at as large a distance as is feasible given the facility.

  • Avoid sharing of foods and utensils and ensure the safety of children with food allergies.

Screening and attendance

  • Campers and staff will be screened upon arrival at the program with a safety questionnaire.

  • Temperature checks may be used if deemed necessary.

  • Campers or staff showing symptoms of illness must remain home.

  • Camp staff members will be trained in these health and safety protocols prior to working on site.
