This course helps Kindergarten - 2nd grade, 1st - 2nd grade, and 4rd - 6th grade students grow into artists by inspiring and developing their creative talents. The course aims to expand students’ visual critical thinking skill set through a variety of audiovisual materials.

Grade 6 to Grade 12
This Art Foundation course is NYSA’s most popular program for G6-G12 students. This intensive program, taught in a small group setting, helps students develop a strong foundation in drawing, painting, collage, and design. NYSA’s accomplished instructors aim to cultivate talented artists and help students maximize their creativity.
Painting on Canvas
Grades
Grade 4 to Grade 12
This course introduces acrylic painting on canvas techniques through practice and demonstration. The students will learn with step-by-step instruction how to paint and apply brushstrokes to create their masterpieces. Each session will have a different theme, usually inspired by a famous artist or style.
Watercolor Painting
Grades
Grade 4 to Grade 12
This class provides step-by-step instruction in the fundamentals of watercolor painting. The class format consists of studio work with lectures, examples, demonstrations, and individual as well as group critiques.
