Camp Curriculum

Drawing
Drawing explores traditional mediums interpreted in new and creative ways. We encourage artists to discover original and visionary ideas through diverse drawing techniques and create one-of-a-kind portfolio pieces.

Painting
Painting focuses on developing creative compositions using basic elements of design and painting, like lines, forms, colors, textures, and space. We transform a student’s individual brush stroke into his or her own unique style.

Sculpture
Sculpture explores modern 3D and mixed media focusing on the relationship between form, material, space and content. Artists complete contemporary and innovative sculptures with various techniques and materials, including installations, casting, and mold making.

Animation
Animation is a class that combines concept with movement to create the story. The student can learn how to use media tools and computer programs beyond 2D and 3D to make videos which could be most suitable for his/her portfolio irrespective of desired major.

Mixed Media
The mixed media class introduces various materials and techniques and develops the student’s work activity more creatively. Focus on the consistency of portfolio themes and learn how to work conceptually. This class also covers the “RISD Home Test”.

Conceptual Arts
Classes are designed from the artists’ interests, modeled after the “Parsons Challenge.” For the Parson’s Home Test, our class aims to develop students’ conceptual creative processes, technical skills, and artistic sensibilities. Individually tailored class takes varied instructional approaches to fit each student’s need.
